White Space Poetry Project- News Regarding Short Film and Poetry Anthology

The Princes of Pasadena

It has been an exciting year for White Space Poetry Project.  We were successful in raising an initial $10,000 to fund our two-part creative venture this Spring.  Fundraising efforts continue in support of the work that we are doing in the deaf community.  In addition to our short-film and anthology, we hope to work with emerging artists in the deaf community through artist residencies and related activities.

Most recently we had an event at POP Champagne and Desert Bar in Pasadena, CA where we raised over $300 in one night!  The event was hosted by the Princes of Pasadena, a volunteer organization that supports GLBT friendly charities and causes.

In the coming weeks, we are assembling our production team for the short film, White Space.  Currently we are working on the layout of our much anticipated White Space Poetry Anthology. We are fortunate to have a number of talented hearing and deaf poets in the same collection!  Among the contributors are Raymond Luczak, Zendrea Mitchell, Su Smallen and Bianca Spriggs.

If you are interested in getting involved in White Space Poetry Project, please contact us at whitespacepoetry@gmail.com

If you are a poet or visual artist, we are still accepting submissions for our anthology.  We are particularly interested in poetry and art submissions from deaf or hard of hearing artists.
